Labor Day List: 8 Sobering Stats
IEN.com: "Once again, Labor Day is upon us, marking for most of us the end of summer rather than the achievements of American workers. First celebrated by the Central Labor Union in New York City with a demonstration and picnic in 1882, it became an official holiday in honor of workers by act of Congress in 1894."

aw man, thats so depressing. I actually didn't know what the origin of labor day was, so good to know. It is sad that many take the time off to enjoy themselves, while many others, for whom the day exists, cannot for any number of sad reasons.
