Co-founder Marinelli reflects on developing the ETC with Pausch

The Tartan Online: "With the birth of the Entertainment Technology Center (ETC) in 1998, Don Marinelli and Randy Pausch’s futures were sealed together. Drawing inspiration from the University of South California’s ETC, Raj Reddy, the dean of the School of Computer Science at the time, brought up the idea of forming Carnegie Mellon’s own ETC to Pausch and Marinelli who followed it to completion."

I have yet to meet Don but he seems like such a great person to learn from and be around.

It's interesting to find out that Randy became the way he was in terms of his visions on life and work AFTER he was diagnosed. I suppose it makes sense but nobody has cast him in that light. It puts the extremity of the situation into perspective.
