Carnegie Museums taking charge of arts festival

PostGazette: "Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh, which has become 'increasingly concerned about the financial health' of the Three Rivers Arts Festival, is assuming responsibility for day-to-day operations and has eliminated the festival's two senior managerial positions."

This probably means a lot of good things for the arts festival. As Dave had mentioned in class, he's been to the arts fest now for years and years and this year was the first year he had actually seen actual art. I think by Carnegie Museum getting more involved, there's a stronger financial backing, and there's a greater probability of seeing art that doesn't suck (and maybe someone will take into consideration that trailers are not the best places for art in the middle of the summer).

With this further involvement, I hope to see Carnegie drawing from its collection. A lot of people who attend the arts fest never set foot inside a museum regularly.. This way, the Carnegie can start bringing art to the public (and perhaps creating more patrons).
