It's interesting to see what the British press thinks of as the worst musicals ever- and also how much money was poured into some really truly awful concepts. I'm sure Broadway has had similar flops, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

After hearing everyone complain about all of the movies being adapted into musicals, I'm glad to see that this list does not contain that many movie adaptations (with the exception of #1). Put in perspective, most of these adaptations will at least have solid stories, which is more than these shows can say. I also am pretty surprised that Children of Eden, a show I've seen that really isn't that bad, was put on this list instead of some others.

I'm surprised Pajama Game didn't make this list.. I have to say that I have heard on more than one occasion how bad each and every one of these musicals was from two people I didn't really trust opinions from. Maybe I should have believed them.

Musicals are an interesting creature of theatre. their success or failure tend to be either very high or low. it's interesting to see some of the titles listed in this article, i can't say that i have seen all of them, however, the ones that i have i can say that i definitely agree with. Because of their, "go big, or go home" nature musicals seem to be easy targets for critiques. The good ones are praised and the bad . . . well they fall of the face of the earth. but they all serve as examples of "do's" and "Don'ts".

What are these producers thinking? The theme seemed to be hugely dramatic horrifying events that they thought would become Broadway hits. Not everything needs an showstopping musical number, especially visions of the virgin mary. Most of them seem to be better suited for opera.

But Carrie, I really want to see that.

And Naomi, The Pajama Game is not THAT bad.

Wow, as I read through these, I couldn't help but think of many books I have read that would make awful musicals. That was what this list seemed to be from which shows I had heard of before. Likewise, I was surprised that Children of Eden made this list. I do not think it is the most stunning musical created, but really? Nothing fits 9th place better? I have trouble believing that...maybe I will look into it.

I've never heard of some of these musicals...but that makes sense if they were such flops.I found it interesting that Children of Eden made the list. I've never seen it, but I know of many schools and theaters who choose it as part of their season. Its also a soundtrack found on many musical guru's ipods.
