Les Ballet de Monte Carlo enthrals with 'Cinderella'

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "The audience Saturday night at the Benedum Center was in the hands of true artists when Jean-Christophe Maillot's brilliant version of 'Cinderella' was performed by Les Ballet de Monte Carlo."

Writing about dance always seems awkward to me: when there's a great performance, generally the same obvious things are said (ie the dance supported the music, the music added to the dance). Of course. That's kinda the point.

Anyway, I'm really kinda sad I missed this. The production photo just kinda makes me go 'oooh. pretty.'

Les Ballet de Monte Carlo is one of my absolute favorite companies! I am so upset that I was not available to attend this performance!!!!! Just hearing about the production makes me so, just, ah! Cinderella does the entire ballet barefoot, and when it is time for her to try on the shoes, the servants dip her into the ashes of the fire place, and her feet become covered in gold!!!! But its not paint!!!! And the Grand staircase has a slide, and the dress forms dance, and they project things in French all over the set! I want to be a ballerina!!!
