Last-minute agreement nixes pickets

The Whig Standard - Ontario, CA: "Concertgoers won't have to cross picket lines to get into tonight's inaugural concert at the K-Rock Centre.
The union representing backstage workers who rig and run concerts and stage shows called off a planned picket after a last-minute deal with the company that manages the city-owned sports and entertainment centre."

It is unfortunate that the union isn't being respected by Arcturus/SMG, but since the union has called off picketing, hopefully Arcturus/SMG will cooperate. With the writers strike and the Broadway stagehand strike late last year, there seems to be a general problem with producers not recognizing the importance and need of the workers who keep the entertainment industry going, and this article unfortunately shows that there are still problems in the industry.
