Stagehand strike leaves Broadway visitors in the cold

Personally, I'm getting a little tired of hearing about how people's holiday vacations are inconvenienced because of the dark shows on Broadway. I'd much rather be hearing an analysis of the issues, because in most articles, that is what is lacking. And seriously, is there nothing else to do in New York? I am so glad that Off-Broadway is getting some of the overflow because it is such a different window of theater than Broadway. But seriously, I can only hope that the media can stop talking about Wendy whose 70th birthday was 'ruined' because she couldn't see Wicked.

I agree with Liz. I am just really tired of hearing about how people's vacation plans are being ruined. Not to mention that this is shining a negative light on the theatre industry.
Thirded. Every article I read about the strike just gets filed away as more evidence of how selfish we can be. None of the tourists take the time to understand the issues surrounding the strike; they just want to know what to do now that their evening plans are ruined. Neither the stagehands nor the producers are depicted very positively. And it's very different from the coverage of the WGA strike, as mentioned in another article. Many of the striking WGA members are also popular entertainment icons, but the stagehands are simply bitter and greedy.
