East stage preview: Ralphie comes to Stage Right in 'Christmas Story'

Post Gazette: "The holidays are a time to enjoy traditions, new and old. And the 1983 film 'A Christmas Story' has become a contemporary classic to many who have watched it during its televised Christmas Eve marathons. The Stage Right Family and Youth Theatre production of 'A Christmas Story,' which will open tomorrow at the Westmoreland Mall Annex, may become its own holiday tradition. This stage adaptation is in its second year."

Im surprised that this has not been made into a musical yet. The way things have been going, it will be in a year or so. I can honestly say, however, that I still enjoy the 24 hour marathon on christmas day.

Uh-oh, I don't know about this one. Sure, it has potential but this movie is a classic not just because of its plot but because of the actors the brought to life all those lovable characters. No, this is just another example of movies that should not be touched with sequels or Broadway dreams. Please, people, start making new musicals and stop relying on movies!! Oh Ralphie, I hope it's not too painful of a transition.
