Potential Broadway strike postponed

Variety.com: "Looks like Broadway can breathe easy - at least for now. Rialto producers and the legit stagehands' union agreed Friday to continue contract talks in meetings Oct. 2 and Oct. 4, thereby avoiding a potential work stoppage that looked possible Oct. 1."

I've been trying to follow this story since I first commented on it last week. It's nice to hear that no lockout is coming to Broadway just yet. No one really wants to shut down New York theatre because of contract disagreements, but the stage hands do have a right to have a say in their contracts. At this time, a full strike of ONE would cripple theatre to the point that a bounce back may not happen.

I think that this has been an example of a strike or lockout that has changed how I see the League and the Union. I can see both sides of the argument and they both have logical points though I think it's important to realize how hard the Union will fight to maintain a fair and safe atmosphere for their workers. It really displays the security you can have with them. On a side note, the fact that Disney shows will still run is not a surprise to me.
