Pitt, CMU to pay more for transit rides for faculty, students

Post Gazette: "Staff at the Port Authority of Allegheny County yesterday recommended to the agency's board a five-year deal with both schools that would hike discounted ridership rates by 15 percent each year."

It must be really pricey to run such a vast transit system and our transportation fee of I believe $36 is a steal. I don't blame them for raising the price this upcoming year, but I hope the increase is not too much. A mere 15% is nothing.

Pittsburgh Port Authority has been having terrible financial troubles. I understand the 15 percent increase. Lets just hope that service doesn't drop again anytime soon. There are a huge amount of students that rely on the bus every day, and to pay more and get less... well... that sounds like public transportation to me.
