All the articles I have been reading on this strike are the same thing regurgitated over and over again with two or three lines of different information. None of them have actually given the reader the real issues of the strike. You have to wonder what caused the League to pull their dead line of Oct. 1st? Are the two parties making headway in negotiations or is the league afraid their 15 to 20 million may not cover the losses of a lockout? For the leagues sack hopefully it’s the former, other wise the Local my realize how reluctant the producers are to stop production. Either way both parties should not want a work stoppage. Not only would that mean the lose of the money that would have been generated during the strike/lockout, it also means there would be a period of ramping back up to were sales were before the stoppage.

The fact that there will not be lockouts this morning is reassuring to the fact that progress is being made in this battle between local one and the Leauge. This action, or lack there of, tells me that neither party really wants to resort to lockouts and that measures will be taken to keep Broadway running while an agreement is arranged.

It wouldn't be Broadway without talk of a strike or lockout at least once a year. Local one is merely trying to intimidate the League because we all know that a to lose a day on Broadway is a large lump sum lost. This merely gives the stagehand the upperhand in this battle. However, neither party seems worried about the progess. I think local one more so just want the League to know they mean business.
