I have never really understood why famous people's homes so quickly become historic landmarks when they die. The only home that I have visited that actually seemed to help my understanding of the person was not a home at all bbut rather Norman Rockwell's studio. What will we learn from August Wilson from his home, how does a house preserve his memory if he hasn't lived there in a while? I could see his office as being partly relevant, but everywhere else in his house not so much. I guess if people are willing to put money into it, the idea is why not do it.
