Broadway Producer-Stagehand Union Talks May Result in Lockout

Playbill News: "Local One, the Broadway stagehands union, and the League of American Theatres and Producers have been trying to hammer out a new working contract since last summer; their most recent pact expired at the end of July. But no agreement has been forthcoming and tensions are rising, according to reports in Variety and Crain's."

It's going to be interesting to see the outcome of this. Especially if Stagehands have the possibility of working in TV or Film if there actually is a Lockout. What is difficult is that I can understand both sides of this. It makes perfect sense to hire more people just for the days of load in, but then as a stagehand I would want a more secure job option.
We'll see I guess.

I cannot wait to see the final outcome of these "settlement" processes. This seemed like it has been causing so much trouble in the industry so far. It may be just right timing, but it would be nice to get this figured out once for all. So that the future industry builders like us may have more options and freedom.
