It is both sad and eye opening to hear this news. I don't think about this issue but some of these people's jobs are to put their lives on the line for other people's entertainment. It is a shame someone had to become a casualty as a result. I also am not a fan of the fact that they plugged the movie at the bottom of the article. I think that seems inconsiderate.

I don't think people look at theatre and film and realize that there is a lot of risk involved and that accidents do happen. I have personally never seen any mishaps fortunately but I have heard of many especially in film. Sometimes when directors are trying to create a dangerous situation on film they actually have to get into a dangerous situation, for example look at Steve Irwin. It was a tragedy that he died however his career in cinema was mostly to those who are on the edge of their seat looking for a crocodile to bite him or one of those dangerous things to happen. When you add the element of danger into theatre and film people just get more intrested so it really can't be avoided.

Does the production have some legal responsibility for the death of that man. I am really interested in how this stands legally. Can the company be held responsible because they asked him to do this dangerous stunt or is it all on the guy how was driving since he was driving the car? That has to really put a knot in the middle of a film shoot. It’s hard to justify that the stunt you were going for was worth that mans life. I suppose if you’re a stunt man it’s all part of the territory.

It's sad but whenever something like this happens, my first thought has become who is going to get sued and what type of legislation might be created as a result of this recent accident. It's a shame that deaths have now so muddled with legality that the death in a way falls to the background.
