Cameraphone: Turn Your Digital Camera into a Scanner with Qipit

Lifehacker: "Webapp Qipit turns a digital photo of a whiteboard, handwritten notes or a typed document into a PDF. Much like previously mentioned ScanR, you can email cameraphone snaps to Qipit, or upload images via email or the web site."

Okay, i guess having a website automate the process is a novel idea, but anyone with a computer can put a jpeg file into word or acrobat and save it to a pdf or other format.

I don't really see much point to this. Maybe its just my phone, but if I tried to get the pictures off of it and into a PDF file, it would be tiiinnnyyy. Besides, I can already email my pictures to my computer, so really, whats the point? Oh well, horrah for inovation I guess.

Though I really don't see much use for this at the moment mostly for the same reasons as bryan and chapel pointed out, perhaps later versions will be have more usefulness, like being able to convert into a vector format so that the resolution could be increased. I don't know if I'd use it still though, maybe if I had a Japanese camera phone that does like 6MP or more.

I agree with bryan, chapel, and jordan.. I don't actually use my camera phone to take pictures that I need to turn out well because I have a camera that has very good resolution and is easier to transfer photos from. I think that maybe this would be better for people that aren't as familiar with converting file types though if they need a PDF that's unlikely. I feel this is kind of useless... especially if you know how to use a computer relatively well.

This is a good idea, but having photoshop or adobe acrobat professional would do the trick. Although for the people who don't have it it is a good idea. The only downside, you need a high resolution picture.
