Stage Preview: 'Beauty and the Beast' fits PMT classics commitment

Post Gazette: "Pittsburgh Musical Theater's Ken Gargaro expresses pleasure over the local colleges doing what he calls 'experimental and risky -- risque? -- musical treats,' such as 'Urinetown' at Carnegie Mellon or 'Reefer Madness' at Point Park. But he knows there's a place for the popular classics in professional productions at the sub-CLO level. And 'for a company like PMT that has a mission to educate youth in the art of musical theater and has a niche audience of young people,' the familiar classics are 'a mandate.'"
