Olympic organisers warn there's little cash for culture

The Stage: "Olympics organisers have admitted there is “very little money” available to pay for the Cultural Olympiad, the four-year festival intended to showcase British artistic talent in the run-up to the 2012 games."

What's wrong with the Olympics these days... China is hosting it in 2008, and they almost couldn't get their "national" sport in as a demo! A chance to show the world a taste of culture and the Olympic committee nearly rejected it! And yet before this was quite customary to allow the nation holding the competition a chance to display something.

In the end, after much debate, Wushu is going to demo in the Olympics!! WOOO - go watch it!!! ... it better air on TV...

This is really great to see projects like the Cultural Olympiad. Especially if they are trying to include theatre. It's also crazy to see the budget for something like this. Too bad we didn't do anything like this for the Olympics in Salt Lake.
