Theatre Joins Grocery Store for Fundraiser

Backstage: "The Company of Angels theatre group and employees of the Trader Joe's grocery store in Los Angeles' Silver Lake neighborhood will initiate a fundraiser on April 1 for Trader Joe's crew member Adam Authier, 32, who was the victim of a hit-and-run accident in February. The net proceeds of the event, to be held at the Grand Avenue Club in downtown L.A., will go toward helping Authier pay his medical bills."

This is definitely something that makes me proud to be in theatre. People helping other people out through the use of performance. I'm glad they're doing something to help an injured man, and I'm glad they're finally putting up a traffic light.

I think this is great. Hopefully they will be able to raise a good amount of money to help. Trader Joe’s has a fairly wide “fan” basis, so hopefully this will bring together different groups of people for this cause, thereby introducing new individuals to theatre. Perhaps there can be more than one great outcome.
