In 'Pageant,' questions left unanswered

The Boston Globe: "We're all searching for answers. At least, that's what the central character, L. Ron Hubbard, tells us in 'A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant,' which Boston Theatre Works is staging at the Boston Center for the Arts. So here are a few of the answers I'm searching for."

I don't know how deep people are expecting a childrens pageant to be, because lets face it - children's theater is primarily a way to make them feel special, they don't even really know what they're doing. It's possible that there was a giant alterior motive, but perhaps they were just trying to create a bizarre, alternate version of the typical children's holiday show. lately scientology has received a lot of media, and it could just be a tool of exposure. in my opinion it was just an attempt for some added humor for the parents who have to suffer through these events every year. - Maddie Regan

This seems like it was either simply a childrens pageant play, where the kids were just performing so that they could be in the spotligh or a "good idea" using a lot of satire gone terribly wrong.
