The Production/Technical Manager is the staff member charged with ensuring the quality of the technical elements of Theatrikos productions. He or She supervises and maintains the production budgets and schedules, is responsible for leading the build and instillation of all technical elements, helps lead capital improvement projects and may be asked to design some productions. This position is right for a person with a great understanding of the technical elements of theatre, an understanding of production management, the ability to work with and train volunteer crews, and the ability to manage his or her time well while working independently on multiple projects. Theatrikos Theatre Company is a growing institution that would be perfect for production/technical manager that is excited about putting their mark on the organization and helping it continue to grow.

Production Management

  • Create master production calendar for the season
  • Oversee season production budget
  • Generate, with the help of volunteer designers and crews, a production build schedule for each Mainstage production.
  • Set, monitor and maintain, individual show budgets
  • Work with volunteer Stage Managers and Directors to set rehearsal and tech schedules
  • Communicate the progress of the production to other staff and volunteer leaders
  • Act as an advocate for the production with other staff
  • Monitor the running of each production
  • Hold weekly production meetings

Technical Direction

  • Design the technical solutions to the set design
  • Generate weekly build schedules
  • Ensure the completion of all technical elements in a timely manor
  • Act as lead carpenter during the construction of the set
  • Act as or supervise volunteers acting as, Paint Charge, Master Electrician, Costume Staff, and Audio Engineer.
  • Supervise, Teach, and Mentor volunteer build crews

Other Duties

§ Plan and execute build maintenance and improvement projects

  • Support special events (Oscar Night) and other programs (TheatriKIDS, PEACE, CCC, Studio Series) as needed.
  • Help improve efficiency within the organization particularly in technical areas
  • Be flexible, Theatrikos is a growing organization and as growth continues duties maybe added or taken away from any position.
